6 FURLONGS - PALE ALE
We have six furlongs out back though you wouldn’t know it, would you!? A Furlong you say? Rarely known outside of the ‘racing set’, it comes from the Old English words furh (furrow) and lang (long)—but let’s call it what it is, a term used to measure 200m.READ MORE
Sounds like a race track doesn’t it! It’s a unique feature that our property has its own 1,200m, or 6 furlongs, track that legendary horses were trained on and we are now training some of our best fruit trees on! We thought 6 Furlongs was the perfect name for our signature Pale Ale—a tribute to our back yard, and our love of horse racing.
6 Furlongs is a US style pale ale made for drinkers of today, brewed exclusively with aroma hops giving a restrained bitterness with the big hop aroma balanced by the German specialty malts used in the mash. ABV: 5.2%
THE STRAPPER - AUSTRALIAN LAGER
While it’s both our love of horse racing and the coastal lifestyle that brought us here, it’s definitely the great food, beer and company that keeps us going. These stables have been home to some incredible racing pedigree but it’s the untold stories and local legends surrounding this place that makes for characterful brews, and even beer conversations!READ MORE
This classic Australian style lager was the first beer we made to ‘christen’ the new tanks at SABB and is quintessentially a beer for the genuine worker - the quiet achiever. ‘Strapper’ is an old English term that we have adopted in Australian racing as an endearing title for “He or She that holds a supreme posi on of caring for race horses”. Sounds fancy. It’s not. It’s a thankless job and only the tough and fair survive. Early mornings, temperamental horses (and equally temperamental trainers), heavy lifting and plenty of work with leather and metal. Getting interesting yet?
Jump on, saddle up and enjoy -we promise it will be a refreshing, not too bitter and flavoursome ride. The Strapper Australian Lager uses heirloom Australian barley and hop varieties brewed to the unique South East Australian lager style of so bitterness and fruity fresh flavour. ABV: 5.0%
BOX 54 - GOLDEN ALE
It’s a bit of a local legend that Box 54 on our property was the some me home of one of Australia’s most famous horses Makybe Diva. She captured the heart of the nation when she became the first horse to win the Melbourne Cup, not just once but three times - clearly she is no shy and retiring violet! That type of achievement deserves something pretty exceptional so we created Box 54 Golden Ale as a dip of the hat to this remarkable mare.READ MORE
Straight out of the gate, or Box if you like, this ale is dry and crisp with a hint of sweetness following from the malt - perfect to drink when talking about the sweet wins in life. These golden moments are the sort of things to be celebrated and we might be biased but we think the perfect place to do this is right here with us only minutes from the best surf in Victoria.
Drink it from your own victory cup, or just a pot is also okay - Box 54 brings it’s own glorious golden flavour. Box 54 is an unfiltered summer style ale brewed with wheat malt for foam and body, unpasteurised for freshness and with the complex tropical hop note from Victorian Galaxy hops. ABV: 4.6%

This snappy Pilsner is a fruity and vibrant beer, and certainly no shy and retiring
racegoer with a pronounced bitterness to balance the flavour. Race Day draws
from the famous pilsner brewing traditions in Europe but we have made it
our own by adding a little bit of our coastal brewing playfulness and sense of
independent spirit - just like the best racing horses.
It’s a beer that plays to the novelty and festive nature of the pinnacle season of horse racing in Australia.
Race Day Cloudy Pilsner is brewed in the original Bohemian Czech style with Saaz aroma hops for a complex spicy and herbal aroma, unfiltered and unpasteurised for a fresher flavour. ABV: 5.0%
